Meet Dr. Fransia Markou
Dr. Fransia Markou is a Veterinarian at Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital. She graduated from Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine with her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. She attended the University of Florida School of Veterinary Medicine for her clinical training, and her areas of professional interest include preventative medicine, dentistry, surgery, client relationships, and shelter medicine.
Dr. Markou was inspired to become a vet after her lifelong love for animals and a passion for their well-being. Her parents were also in the medical field, which fostered her interest to pursue veterinary medicine. She says the best part of working in the veterinary field is helping animals and pets in need, while working together with families to ensure that their pets are healthy and happy.
Dr. Markou was born and raised in Clearwater, and currently resides there. She has a rescued Pitbull named Roscoe, and German Shorthaired Pointer named Brody. When she is not practicing veterinary medicine, she enjoys spending time with her family, walking the dogs, doing yoga, and relaxing at home.
