Digital X-Ray
Radiology (x-ray) provides valuable information about your pet’s bones, gastrointestinal tract (stomach, intestines, colon), lungs, heart, and genitourinary system (bladder, prostate). Our veterinarians use radiology alone and in combination with other diagnostic tools to accurately and quickly diagnose medical concerns.
At Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital, we proudly utilize digital x-ray technology to capture the clearest image. This technology allows us to diagnose your pet’s condition with the greatest speed and accuracy. Plus, it uses less radiation than traditional radiology, making it safer for your pet.
Ultrasound
While radiology provides a picture of your pet’s bones and a basic outline of the internal organs, ultrasound allows your veterinarian to take an even closer look at your pet’s vital organs. Ultrasound is a noninvasive diagnostic tool that uses sound waves to create an image of the internal organs and other structures inside the body. It can be used to evaluate the health of the heart, kidney, liver, and bladder, detect cysts and tumors, and monitor pregnancies.
Our veterinarians often use ultrasound in combination with radiology to confidently diagnose medical conditions.
