Appointments & Safety Policy
Oakhurst Veterinary Hospital is open six days a week to better serve you and your pet. To ensure that each patient—and every scheduled procedure—receives the time and attention they deserve, we operate by appointment only. This helps us keep our schedule running smoothly and allows us to deliver the high-quality care you’ve come to expect.
For the safety and comfort of all clients, patients, and team members, we kindly ask that all pets entering our facility be properly restrained—dogs on a leash and cats or small animals in a secure carrier. This helps reduce stress and keeps everyone safe during their visit.
Surgical Admission Policy
To ensure the safety and success of your pet’s surgical procedure, we follow a specific pre-operative protocol. One of our team members will call you the day before your pet’s scheduled surgery to review preparation instructions and answer any questions you may have.
For planning purposes, please note the following:
- Surgical admissions are scheduled between 7:30 AM and 8:00 AM.
- Pets should be fasted for 12 hours prior to surgery (no food after 8:00 PM the night before).
- Water is allowed overnight, so you may leave your pet’s water bowl down.
- Payment is due at the time of discharge.
